As we have tried to explain on this website the heart of Easter is relationship.
It is a message of hope from a God who loves us and has a plan for our lives. Easter is about God stepping into the world he has made.
The birth of Jesus, the Son of God, is just part of that story. Jesus life, words and miracles are all about Jesus coming to a point what would change history for ever.
Through Jesus Crucifixion (his death on the cross) and resurrection (coming back to life) he has opened up a way for us to enter into a relationship with God.
You may have looked through this site or already thought about God's plan for your life and decided you are ready to begin a relationship with your Father God.
If you haven’t done so already you may want to visit Looking4God.org as this will give you much more information to help explain what being a Christian is all about.
There are three important steps that you need to take:
Admit – You need to admit that you have made mistakes – the Bible calls this sin and that you need God to change your life. The Bible calls this repentance – it means turning from going your own way to going God’s way.
Believe that through Jesus and his death and resurrection you can receive God gift of a restored relationship with him.
Commit! You are making a decision to go God’s way from now on. That doesn’t mean you will never make mistakes – we all do – but it is asking God to be the boss and with the help of his Holy Spirit to live the life that God intended you to live.
Below is a prayer that you can pray. Praying the prayer alone will not make you Christian but if you pray this prayer and really mean it, God had promised he will answer.
"To all who received him, to those who believed in his name he gave the right to become the children of God" (John 1:12)
If you are ready to receive Jesus’ gift of life, why not pray this prayer now.
I admit I am a sinner and need your forgiveness; I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place paying the penalty for my sins; I am willing to turn from my sin and accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord. I commit myself to you and ask you to send the Holy Spirit into my life, to fill me and take control, and to help me become the kind of person you want me to be.
Thank you Father for loving me.
In Jesus name. Amen
Praying the prayer is just the beginning of the journey and we want would love to put you in contact with a church that can help you move forward in your new relationship with God so please contact us so that we can help you and provide a free book that will give you more information on what it means to be a Christian.
Lastly we encourage you to Make More of Easter!
